History Of EuroJackpot:
The EuroJackpot was made to compete with the EuroMillions Lottery ,the EuroMillions Lottery can offer a larger Prize pool due to the increased amounts of countries which generates sales from tickets sold, which makes for a much larger Jackpot. The EuroJackpot is made up of Germany, Finland, Denmark, Slovenia, Spain, Italy, Estonia and the Netherlands and was formed in 2012 with its rollout. Later on Croatia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden affiliated the EuroJackpot lottery. Slovakia joined on the 9th of October 2015, making it the most recent country to join the game. First tickets went on sale in March 2012. |

How To Play EuroJackpot
All you need to do to play the EuroJackpot is select five numbers from a range of 1 – 50 then two additional numbers, known as Euro numbers, from a range of 1 – 8.
- Lottery players select 5 numbers from a possible 50 (1 – 50)
- Lottery players then select a further 2 numbers from a possible 8 (1 – 8)
To win the main prize, players need to match all 7 lucky lottery numbers. For those players that don’t match all 7 numbers, there are a further 11 consolatory prize tiers. To play the EuroJackpot you can either purchase tickets online or from an offline retailer.
Record Breaking Eurojackpot Draws
The EuroJackpot has a fairly sizeable rollover cap in place. The jackpot can reach a maximum of €90 million. If the jackpot remains unwon additional funds will be added to the lower tier prize also to a maximum of €90 million. Eurojackpot originally had a rollover cap in addition to the jackpot cap. The lottery could only every rollover a maximum of 12 times. On the 25th of March, 2016, the second-biggest jackpot record was broken after an enormous prize of €76,766,891.00 was won.
If on the 12th rollover draw the jackpot was still not won the jackpot amount would roll down to the lower tier. Up until January 31, 2013 the EuroJackpot lottery had a 'rolldown' clause: in case the jackpot is not won for 12 consecutive draws, the 13th draw will be subject to a rolldown whereby if no winner is able to match all 7 winning numbers, the jackpot is paid out to the next winning tier where a winner is available.
When To Play EuroJackpot
The EuroJackpot draw takes place once a week on Friday night at 21h00 CET. The draw itself is held in Helsinki, Finland and is broadcast on Yle TV1. EuroJackpot results will be posted on PlayEuromillions.com shortly thereafter.
