THE SPANISH LA PRIMITIVA LOTTO
History of La Primitiva
The La Primitiva Lottery is one of the oldest Lotto games in the world, dating way back to the 1700's, it was discontinued in 1862 but reintroduced in 1985 as the one we know and love today.
How to Play La Primitiva
The La Primitiva Lotto is played twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays in the evening. Primitiva Lotto is a 6/49 Lottery game where all you need is a matching 6 numbers from a possible 49.To win the top prize in La Primitiva you need to match all 6 chosen numbers plus the assigned Reintegro number. The other ways to win a prize are to match 5 numbers plus the bonus ball, match five numbers, match 4 numbers or match 3 numbers.
The Bonus Ball is drawn from lottery balls numbered 1 to 9 and is used to suppliment the second prize. From the total amount collected T, the state keeps 45%. 10% is reserved for returns (refunds), and 45% is distributed on prizes (22% for first category, and 33% for the rest of prizes).
The Reintegro Number
To win the top prize in La Primitiva you need to match all 6 chosen numbers plus the assigned Reintegro number.
The Reintegro number is not chosen by you, it is randomly assigned by the Spanish National Lottery organisers after your entry has been validated on their system.
Please note: Your initial entry confirmation email will not contain your Reintegro number. Please allow up to 24 hours for receipt of your Reintegro number (either via email or directly to the entries section in your account) once the draw your ticket is entered into becomes the next available La Primitiva draw on our system.
This is especially releveant if you have purchased tickets in advance for future draws as you will only receive the Reintegro number for each ticket once the draw it is entered into becomes the next available La Primitiva draw on our system.
La Primitiva is drawn every Thursday and Saturday at 21:40 CET. Draws are broadcast live on the national Spanish TV channel La 1 which shows all the draws throughout the week. La Primitiva draws start at €3 million and will continue to roll until the top prize is won.
