Samuel Wood, aged 26, who plays the EuroMillions lottery online has joined the ranks of lottery winners who love to pop champagne to celebrate their lottery win.
The former RAF technician from Cumbria won £88,633.70 in the EuroMillions draw when his Quickpick EuroMillions lottery ticket matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star.
As he plays the EuroMillions lottery online, he received the good news in a congratulatory email. At first glance, he thought he had won just a few pounds but he quickly realised that he had won a substantial amount.
Speaking to lottery officials he said, “I couldn’t quite believe it. I thought I had probably won a few pounds — never did I think it would be such a huge sum of money."
“When I saw all those numbers I just could not believe it — I thought I was actually seeing things. I kept looking away and then checking again in case it was my eyes playing tricks with me.
“The news really is still sinking in and it still doesn’t seem real.”
His dream car
The lucky EuroMillions winner said that he has already been out spending and has treated himself to his dream car - a white Mercedes E Class.
A dream vacation
He said that he also plans to go on vacation to Australia as he has family there that he hasn’t seen for a couple of years.
“I have always wanted to go to Australia but I have never been able to afford it and never believed I would be able to.
“This win will enable me to fulfil my dream and visit family I haven’t seen for so long.
“I will no longer have to wait for them to visit me — I can afford to fly out to see them — who knows, maybe even business class.”
Clothing shopping spree and spoiling mum and dad
Over and above the new car and a trip to Australia, Samuel said that he would also like to bolster his wardrobe with new clothes and trainers.
Naturally spoiling his parents also made the list and he said that he plans on treating his family, including his mother, father and two brothers.
“It is just great to not have any money worries. I have a couple of debts to pay off and then I can really enjoy myself — so many options and so many choices.
“I am sure there will be a family celebration in there somewhere too!”
The lucky EuroMillions lottery said that the past month had been particularly tough for him as after making the decision to leave the RAF he was all set for a new job as a factory supervisor, but then he was unfortunately made redundant without any warning.
“It was such a worrying time, I just didn’t know how I was going to make ends meet.”
Thankfully things have now turned around for him as he not only won a huge prize on the lottery but he also got a new job as a labourer at a construction company.
