£25m EuroMillions Jackpot Won By 6 Catering Staff

A syndicate of six catering staff at Neath Port Talbot Hospital in Wales took no time all to quit their jobs after winning just over £25m in the 3 November EuroMillions draw.  The lucky EuroMillions win came very close to not happening at though….

The group of six catering staff started playing the EuroMillions together six years ago. Recently however a new member, Louise, joined their syndicate and they used these numbers to play the EuroMillions. It proved a really lucky with the group finally winning a massive amount on the euro lotto games.

Louise came close to quitting the group as she wanted to save every penny she had for her wedding in March 2018. Thankfully she didn’t as the whole group more than likely would never have played her numbers and they would not have known the pure bliss of winning the EuroMillions lottery.

“Imagine if I'd stopped, we'd never have won," said Louise.

With each EuroMillions syndicate member receiving £4.2m each, I think we can bet our bottom dollar that Louise will be adding quite a few more expenses to her wedding budget.

It’s not just the wedding though that’s on the cards, she also plans to add new mattresses for her children and a new tumble dryer to replace the one that broke three months ago to her shopping list.

Speaking to EuroMillions lottery officials, the group said that they play the EuroMillions draw every Friday. They bought their winning EuroMillions ticket  that matched 05-12-17-33-41 and the two Lucky Stars 04 and 09 from a One Stop store in Port Talbot.

The exact amount the group claimed was £25,476,778.30, that gives each of the members £4.2 million to do with as they please.

One group member however, must be beside herself, as she left the group just before the win, as she retired, handing in her notice.

With everyone now also quitting their jobs, the group’s leader, Julie Saunders, 56, from Port Talbot said that she will definitely miss her work mates, but thanks to the EuroMillions win, it’s “the start of something new for us all.”

"Being able to give up work is something we've always talked about - this has just made our dreams come true," added Sian Jones, another member.

Doreen Thompson, another member, wasted no time, and has already bought her husband a new pair of jeans but he hasn’t quite got used to being a millionaire.  "He picked a pair of jeans up and said, 'I'm not paying £35 for a pair of jeans' and he put them back," she laughed.
