In the wake of one of the world's most devastating natural disasters in Haiti last month, Chile has experienced a similar horrific earthquake. The death toll on this occasion, is far smaller, due to the fact that the epicenter of the quake was not located in a heavily populated area.
In our continuing efforts to give back to the community, we can think of no better way to contribute to the international community than to make another donation to the people of Chile, in order to help make a difference.
We have donated $10,000 to the cause through Oxfam (who we used when donating to their Haiti relief fund), and we urge all of our customers to do as much as possible to aid those that need it most at this critical juncture. As you are by now aware, we have included the ability for you to convert your winnings (or a part thereof) into charitable donations.
Some of you have given most generously, and we have no doubt that this is highly appreciated. It is interesting to note that whenever we have sent out surveys asking customers what they would do with a massive jackpot win, the first thing the majority commit to doing is to give a portion of their windfall to charity.
